Sometimes being a parent is so much more than anyone will actually be able to put in words. . .but I can try.
Sometimes being a parent means making sassy tutus for your baby girl. . . ones that nearly swallow her whole! BAHAHA
Sometimes being a parent means waking up all night long because of scary dreams and yucky teeth. . .
and maybe a diaper that Mommy put on all wonky so someone got soaking wet at 2 AM and didn't go back to sleep until 5:30.
Sometimes being a parent means saying "No!" when it hurts to actually say those words, but it is done for a certain curious munchkin's safety.
Sometimes being a parent means singing silly songs and doing silly dances in order to get your kid to smile for their one year photos. :)
Sometimes being a parent means you get to eat the leftovers of a smash cake from the same photo shoot, and realize the crumbled mess is heaven in your mouth. It's the little things.
Sometimes being a parent means laying in bed or on a couch for 6 weeks in order for you and your baby to survive.
Sometimes being a parent means you may never actually get to raise that little baby, but you know he or she is watching over you in heaven.
Sometimes being a parent means you let someone else give your child a life that you yourself cant.
Sometimes being a parent means you get a bonus kid from another marriage, but you still have opportunities to influence them day in and day out.
(I hate the word "step" kid. A good friend of mine, his Mom calls them this. It makes me happy.)
Sometimes being a parent means you may feel pretty alone.
Sometimes being a parent means losing people that you really care about, because family takes priority and some people just don't"get it."
Sometimes being a parent means you find new friends in a place you least expected.
Sometimes being a parent isn't really about the names "Mommy" & "Daddy". It's about so much more. So much more than anyone ever tells you. So much more that I would NEVER trade any of it for the world.
I hope you are all having a great Monday! We're pretty exhausted from mentioned diaper incident above. Ro & I haven't had a slumber party in months. . . I can't say that I missed them. :)
Lots of Love,
